Experience comfort in a bowl with Quick Wonton Soup. Simmer chicken broth, ginger, miso, garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Add frozen wontons, meatballs, and simmer till cooked. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Spice up with chili flakes if desired.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups chicken broth low sodium

  • 1 inch piece fresh ginger, sliced thin

  • 2 Tbsp miso paste

  • 1 clove minced garlic

  • 20 mini frozen wontons, or frozen pot stickers

  • 1 1/2 cups small frozen meatballs

  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp black and white sesame seeds

  • scallions, sliced green parts only for garnish

  • Chili flakes (optional)

Directions

  • Bring chicken broth to a boil in a large pot.
  • Smash the sliced ginger with the side of a knife to bring out the flavor and add to the pot with the garlic, cover and cook 5 minutes.
  • Add the small meatballs and cook for 15 minutes, then add the frozen wontons, simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, until the wontons are heated through.
  • Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil.
  • Divide soup in four bowls. Garnish with fresh sesame seeds, scallions and chili flakes.
