Begin by sautéing Granny Smith apples in 2 tablespoons of butter or coconut oil, enhancing the sweetness with ¼ cup of agave and a dash of cinnamon, plus a pinch of kosher salt for balance. Encase this delectable blend in 10 ounces of thawed puff pastry, creating six irresistible shells. Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp butter or coconut oil

  • 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into bite size pieces

  • 1/4 cup cup agave

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • Pinch kosher salt

  • 10 oz. frozen puff pastry (6 shells), thawed overnight in the fridge

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425F.
  • Place frozen shells onto an ungreased baking sheet with the tops up and bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
  • Cool on a wire rack and using a knife, gently, remove tops.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once it’s completely melted, add in the apples, and stir until they are fully coated in the butter. Sautee for 5 minutes until nice and tender to your liking.
  • Once the apples are tender, stir in the salt, agave, and cinnamon.
  • Spoon the cooked apples into your shells.
