Hot Chocolate – Chocolate caliente


  • 3 cups water
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, grated
  • Orange peel
  • 4oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 can unsweetened evaporated milk
  • Sugar to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence



  1. Place the cinnamon,cloves, nutmeg, and orange peel with the water in a heavy bottom pot. Bring the water to a boil for 20 minutes. Lower the temperature and add the chopped chocolate, stirring until melted.
  2. Add evaporated milk, sugar to taste, and vanilla essence.
  3. Serve immediately, or make it a day in advance for a deep flavor.
